We are all set for our trip next Tuesday. Here is what you need to know:
- Please be early for school. We would like to leave at 8:50 am. We will meet at our bench in the yard and leave directly from there.
- Students should only carry one bag, containing their lunch, snacks and water bottle. If it seems extra slushy, an extra pair of socks and mittens might be a good idea.
- Please dress for the weather. The forecast is showing a lovely, albeit chilly, day. Snow pants, boots, a winter jacket, scarf, gloves and a hat would be appropriate.
I'd also appreciate you taking the time to review the following safety rules with your child.
We will discuss them in class as well. Thanks!
- Stay with your partner and parent chaperone at all times.
- When getting on and off the subway/streetcar, always wait with your back against the wall.
- Be respectful of nature - do not disturb living things.
- Follow instructions from Nature Guides and parent chaperones right away.
- Have fun!
Mots de la Semaine
In anticipation of our borrow-a-book program, beginning next week, each reader has met with me and their group to practice reading a book. They learned about the steps to begin reading a book with their parents' help, and they are ready to teach YOU what your jobs are when our first book comes home!
The book we read as a group was about shapes, so we've learned our basic shapes in French, and I'll share with you next week a cool little math challenge that we'll do using the shapes we've learned.
