On Friday the 28th, Dewson is celebrating orange shirt day. Orange shirt day is observed in memory of those who were taken from their families to attend residential schools. It is an opportunity for us to discuss anti-racism and anti-bullying. In kindergarten, our discussion will focus on inclusion and family. We plan to make "attachment hearts" stuffed with sage (a traditional medicine), to offer to someone we are attached to. We encourage students to wear orange on Friday in support of this cause.
